A hat tournament is an open tournament where players are divided into balanced teams taking into account player’s abilities of catching, throwing, defense and speed. In order to achieve this balance, participants are reminded to be honest with their abilities. Beginners are expected to put mostly 1’s into playing abilities but they could put higher scores in speed ‘cause they’re just freaking fast runners whereas more experienced players are expected to put higher scores in playing abilities but it could mean they’re slower runners. We have successfully organized an event and it was ‘FUN’ indeed. 6 teams registered for the tournament which was held at Padang Kompleks Sukan Tutong.
It was a 5 Vs 5 Ultimate League tournament and the football field was divided into 3 small Ultimate Field.
Unlike any other Ultimate event in Brunei, this was the first event where everything was free. Registration was FREE, Food and Drinks was provided during the tournament and importantly after event dinner celebration which was also FREE held in one of the restaurant in Tutong district.
Hopefully next year, we will be doing it again.

Below is the date of the road race and mountain bike race in Brunei Darussalam. These dates are only tentative dates, it might change.
In another a few more hours (13 hours to be exact), its going to be 2012. What have you achieved this year and was it good or bad?
So far, the things that I did this year were;
1. My first 70.3 Ironman and managed to finished it without much a problem. (AVIVA 70.3 Ironman Singapore)
2. Participated and got prizes (money) for Olympic distance triathlon. 2nd place in ABDB triathlon (local race) and 15th place in the age category Sarawak International Triathlon.
3. 2nd time competing in Powerman Malaysia (the last time was in 2008) and hoping to break sub 4 hours but only managed to reduce 2 minutes of my previous time.
4. 1 month after that, competing in Brunei first ever Duathlon and I got 13th place out of 50 individual participants.
5. Participated in a few running races such as 5km youth run, national day run, SCB charity run, SOSRO run, Larian Hari Keputeraan, Tasek Climbathon, HSBC Walk Run Cycle, UBD Convo run and etc.
6. Participated in Borneo Marathon – 21km category and did not managed to break my 21km record. That was the only international run that I’ve participated.
7. Did 2 cycling road race and wasn’t very proud of my results. All of it I was in the back peloton.
8. Participated in Telbru Team Time Trial road race and I was very happy with my performance even though our team did not managed to achieved our target of getting top 5 or 6. We got 8th place.
9. My other sports: Ultimate frisbee. Did 3 tournaments. KK Ultimate Hat, KB Ultimate and Andi’s Tourni. Formed a new team under the name UIA (UBD-ITB-Anakpanyu). Managed to get 4th and 5th place in KB Ultimate and 3rd place in Andi’s Tourni.
It has been a very exciting year and hopefully next year will be a more challenging year – planning to join Ironman distance triathlon.

The tournament was held last Sunday, 18th December 2011 at Padang Kebajikan, Berakas. A total of 8 teams – 1 from KK (headhunters), 1 from Sarawak (Ultras), 2 from Kuala Belait (Viking and Roadrunners) and 4 from BSB.
The pictures above is the team I am playing for. UIA Alliance which stands for UBD-ITB-Anakpanyu. This was our second tournament for this year. The first one was in June held at KB and our team got 4th and 5th place (we sent 2 teams at that time) and for this tournament we only sent 1 team and we got 3rd place. Wuhoooooooooooooo.
From the score sheet above, we only lost to the Ultras to advanced to the semifinal where we met with Headhunters of KK where we also lost.
For 3rd and 4th placing, we won against Viking 6-5.
