With very little training, I’ve managed to complete the half marathon in less than 2 hours. I was expecting around 2:10. I only had 2 weeks to train with my longest run was only 7km. Luckily this was not my first half marathon, so I’m considered lucky to complete the run within 2 hours.
The course was totally flat with few very gentle slopes and for 20km, we were running in a straight course – mentally challenging to those who are not use to running in a straight course – the never ending road.
The race was supposed to start at 6am but delayed to 6:50am. The sun was already up and it was hot. Luckily we were running away from the sun.
Category E – Female’s Veteran – 35 years and above - 10km
Category D – Female’s Open – 15 years to 34 years - 15km
Category C – Men’s Master Veteran 50 years and above - 10km
Category B – Men’s Veteran 41 years to 49 years - 15km
Category A – Men’s Open 15 years to 40 years - 21km
